Activist will withdraw proposal for Ford

Ford grille bigFord shareholder and pro-family advocate Thomas Strobhar has confirmed that he's withdrawing a proposal intended to be read and presented for voting at this year's annual spring shareholder meeting, citing as the reason the company's progress in slowing its support of the homosexual agenda.

Strobhar says his proposal from last Fall asked Ford to "list the recipients of corporate charitable contributions of $5,000 or more on the company website," with the intent of exposing the extent of Ford's contribution of shareholder money to support groups advocating homosexual behavior and same-sex "marriage." (See earlier article)

The company tried to exclude the proposal from shareholder proxy materials, but the Securities and Exchange Commission denied Ford's appeal and said it was legally required to submit it to shareholders at their meeting in May.

However, shortly afterward, the American Family Association suspended its two-year-old consumer boycott of the automaker after Ford agreed to conditions addressing its support for the homosexual agenda and after significant financial losses and dropping sales due to the boycott.

Strobhar, who presented other proposals to expose contributions for the annual meeting in successive years during that time, says he is pleased with the recent progress that Ford has made and believes it is appropriate to withdraw his current proposal.
