Controversial drug claims another life

taking pillsA Christian teenager in Britain has become at least the 14th person to die after using the controversial abortafacient RU-486.

The girl essentially bled to death, according to Dr. Randall O'Bannon of the National Right to Life Committee, and it took three years before the news even surfaced. But Dr. O'Bannon believes the recorded deaths and serious side effects of RU-486 are only the tip of the iceberg.

He says many of the complications associated with the abortafacient go unreported -- unless there is an inquiry or investigation -- because the federal government does not require it. In fact, the cases involving serious complications may not be accurate.

"I think the last time I saw the report it was something like 900-and-something women who had serious complications," he reports. That number not only included women who had died, but women who had come close to dying, says O'Bannon.

O'Bannon believes RU-486 is a dangerous drug that warrants additional federal action. He is also under the belief that the manufacturer is more concerned about promoting an agenda than protecting women's lives.
