The latest "40 Days for Life" campaign has ended with success.
For the spring campaign, 135 cities in 43 states in America, four Canadian provinces, Ireland, and Australia participated. Spokesman Shawn Carney tells OneNewsNow that lives were saved during the 40 days of fasting and prayer at abortion clinics. "We, to date, have 421 moms who have come to us and confirmed that they chose life as a result of the people outside praying at these vigils across the country," he notes. Carney adds that some abortions clinics shut down for a time or reduced the hours for abortions, but the campaign also influenced clinic personnel. "Whenever you're out there praying, you're a witness to the truth and the reality of what goes on inside these clinics," he points out. "And so we have had three abortion clinic workers approach the volunteers outside praying, and they left their jobs and are seeking other employment as a result of just seeing the faithful witness outside." Since the 40 Days for Life project began, 13 abortion clinic workers have left their jobs out of conversion. Plans are under way now for the fall campaign.
