The pro-life community is responding to the death of late-term abortionist George Tiller, who was gunned down at his church in Wichita, Kansas, Sunday morning.
Judy Smith of Concerned Women for America-Kansas had this reaction this afternoon. "...[A]s a person who has spent a lot of time defending the sanctity of life, I really felt sorrow that his life did not have that same sanctity," states Smith. "We're not talking about just certain lives, we're talking about everyone's life -- and it's never right to do something wrong." Smith says the pro-life movement will continue to work diligently to protect the unborn through legal and peaceful means, not with deadly weapons. No one who is truly pro-life, she says, will take another person's life. "I will continue to rely on the fact that there is only one judge in this world, and we will all stand before him someday," Smith shares. Randy Thomasson, president of SaveAmerica.com, also condemns Tiller's murder. "Although Tiller killed thousands of unborn babies through late-term and partial-birth abortions, murder is murder and wrong is wrong," Thomasson says in a published statement. "Abortion and murder are both unacceptable. Pro-life Americans are peacefully representing unborn babies through sidewalk counseling, public education, and legislative efforts." Murder, adds Thomasson, is "against pro-life values."
