The website for the film Not Evil Just Wrong was attacked following the worldwide premiere of the documentary.
Sunday, October 18, the documentary Not Evil Just Wrong premiered worldwide via the Internet and premiere parties. Following the premiere, the film's website suffered an attack and was down most of the day. The documentary tackles climate change and environmental legislation while exposing what husband-and-wife producers Ann McElhinney and Phelim Mcaleer believe is the anti-human agenda behind it. "What we did was we bypassed Hollywood. You know, Hollywood don't want to tell a lot of truthful stories -- they want to tell hateful stories a lot of the time," determines McElhinney. "So we have decided to bypass Hollywood because this is an important film. This is the film that challenges Al Gore and the green religion in a lot of ways, actually. And people responded extraordinarily well to that. I mean, we had over 7,000 premieres." She adds that more than 27,000 alone watched the premiere online. Other viewers held premiere parties in their homes or rented out facilities to accommodate larger numbers. Ben Lieberman is a senior policy analyst with The Heritage Foundation, which hosted its own premiere of Not Evil Just Wrong. "Things we are told to be fearful of because of global warming are actually more likely to be caused by global warming policies," says Lieberman, "especially policy that greatly increases the cost of energy and makes energy and the benefits of energy less available." Just before the premiere of the documentary, Mcaleer caught the attention of the media when he asked Al Gore a question concerning the British Courts' ruling that portions of An Inconvenient Truth were inaccurate. Gore questioned one of the findings that stated polar bears are not endangered and quipped that the polar bears did not get that memo. McElhinney claims climate alarmists love to use the polar bear as a "marketing" gimmick. "Children like polar bears," she says, "and that's why I think they use the polar bear and say that the polar bear is going to die if your daddy keeps driving his car." She explains that the reality is that the ice is melting, and it has been doing so since the end of the last Ice Age. McElhinney notes that during the medieval warm period the earth was much warmer than it is now and polar bears survived just fine. She adds that polar bear numbers have doubled since 1950. McElhinney contends that people need to pay attention to the climate alarmists and note how they conduct their lives. She reports that climate alarmists have made the claim that flying in airplanes is the worst thing one could do to the climate. In light of this, she goes on to add that many of these alarmists travel by air on a regular basis. She feels that if they were serious about saving the climate, they would take advantage of the technology of video conferencing instead of flying.
