marriage bannerVoters in the state of Washington face a major decision Tuesday that could affect the institution of marriage.

Washington voters go to the polls tomorrow to decide whether to overturn a bill signed into law providing same-gender domestic partnerships for homosexual men and women. The bill provides for them basically the same benefits as those in a traditional marriage.

Larry Stickney of Protect Marriage Washington is hopeful people will know this is a very serious matter.

"If people in the state of Washington understand that it is ultimately marriage, then we'll win this election," he predicts, "because the people in Washington do not want homosexual marriage."

WashingtonAlthough homosexual activists reportedly have outspent marriage traditionalists 13-to-1, polls have shown the issue in a dead heat. But Stickney says there is one source that is most important for victory for traditional marriage.

"Pray around the country, please, for us, and that people vote in droves," he urges. "If we can turn out the Christian vote, we'll win this thing easily."

But getting believers to the polls is not a given, he says. "That's always the challenge...to get our Christians and our church-goers out to vote," Stickney laments, "but here's an issue that they definitely need to and want to weigh in on."
