A coalition of concerned citizens is voicing its disapproval over the controversial radical imam who has been permitted to deliver the opening prayer at today's opening session of the Virginia General Assembly.

James Lafferty (VASTF)The imam in question is Johari Abdul-Malik, who presides over what has been described as one of the most radical mosques on the East Coast, the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church, Virginia.

"[That is] the mosque which is sort of the crossroads for all the terror suspects in North America," reports James Lafferty, chairman of Virginia Anti-Sharia Task Force (VASTF). "The man who recently did the shooting at Fort Hood, the people who flew the planes into the Pentagon -- all of their paths have gone through Dar al-Hijrah. So it has been called the '9/11 mosque.'"

The chairman adds that Abdul-Malik's invitation is ironic because of who invited him.

"A delegate named Adam Ebbin -- he's my delegate, oddly enough -- invited this imam," Lafferty comments. "And it's just very ironic because Mr. Ebbin is openly gay and he's Jewish. Clearly if these people succeed, he's going to be one of their first targets."

The organization chairman notes that VASTF opposes the radical imam's participation at the General Assembly and have asked the legislators to rescind the invitation or boycott the day's session.
