Oral Roberts LogoOral Roberts University has signed an agreement with the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, positioning the school as the exclusive educational strategic partner for the Hispanic group

The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based school was also named as the exclusive education partner in the NHCLC's national campaign to lower the Latino high school dropout rate and their national campaign for Latino Christian higher education. Plans are also in the works to establish the Jesse Miranda Center, which will provide resources for Hispanic students. Dr. Miranda is the chief executive director for the NHCLC.

During a press conference announcing the partnership, ORU president Dr. Mark Rutland said the agreement places the university in a position to reach out to Hispanics searching for quality Christian higher education.

Dr. Mark Rutland (ORU president 2009)"We believe we are the ideal university to say that the Hispanic community needs the services and the educational experience that ORU can render -- and we need the vitality of their presence and their witness on our university campus," Rutland adds.

"We are going to do everything that we know how to do as a university to accommodate this relationship and to make sure that we...do everything we can...for the success of students who come here."

The NHCLC is the largest Hispanic Christian organization in America. It serves more than 25,000 churches.
