pregnancy illustrationA well-known Christian radio network has donated political ad dollars from the presidential campaign to local crisis pregnancy centers.

In October, Barack Obama's campaign purchased advertising on Christian radio stations nationwide, including several Bott Radio Network stations. At the same time, Obama was pledging his support to Planned Parenthood for the Freedom of Choice Act.

Rich Bott, vice president of the network, says the stations could not reject the ads. "At the same time frame those radio advertisements were running, we were also running editorials explaining to our audience very carefully why we were required to air these advertisements and why, frankly, we disagreed with the policies that Obama was supporting," he explains.

Rich BottHowever, he notes the revenue from the Obama ads will now support life. "We promised our listeners that we pledged to donate that money to crisis pregnancy centers," he points out. "We found a way to spread his wealth around."

The ad revenues amounted to around $4,000.
