Bauer: Gloomy future if Obama elected

Obama and Biden 08 smallA former Republican presidential candidate says, on one issue after another, the "radical left" thinks it is on the brink of total victory in American politics.

American Values president Gary Bauer is predicting a gloomy future for the United States if his candidate, John McCain, is not elected in November. Bauer says while there has been a "malaise" on the political right among his Christian conservative friends, enthusiastic and well-funded liberal grassroots activists are mobilized and "smelling blood."

"They're looking at the political lay of the land and they're saying to themselves, 'If we can control the House of Representatives with Nancy Pelosi, the Senate with Harry Reid, the White House with Barack Obama, if the next two or three Supreme Court appointments are appointments made by Barack Obama, confirmed by a Democratic Senate...' -- my friends, the things we have been fighting for 30 years will not only be lost, they may, in fact, be lost permanently," Bauer contends.

According to Bauer, if liberals are able to engrain the doctrine of Roe v. Wade into our law over the next 20 years, it may become literally impossible -- even with conservative jurists -- to overcome how much Roe will have become part of the legal mainstream. He also warns that if tens of thousands of same-sex "marriages" are permitted under the rule of Pelosi, Reid, and Obama, it is unlikely any future elections would ever reverse the damage.
