Baby hand in adult hand_bigIn spite of the pro-life losses in Tuesday's election, the movement is very much alive.

Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition notes that Barack Obama will be "the most radical pro-abortion president" the U.S. has ever had.

"President-elect Obama supports the partial-birth abortion procedure; [he] blocked legislation that would protect infants born alive from late-term abortions. As part of his healthcare plan, [he] wants to have taxpayers pay for abortions; [and he] wants to expand abortion rights through the Freedom of Choice Act," the ministry leader explains.

Mahoney fears Obama's plans will overturn much of the progress the pro-life movement has made over the past few decades. He urges pro-lifers to speak out and not to be silent. "It is imperative that the pro-life community, at the very beginning of Mr. Obama's administration, have a prayerful, public witness for life," he adds.

pro-lifer prayingDuring Obama's inauguration in January, says Mahoney, his group will stage demonstrations, conduct prayer vigils, and host workshops with national leaders in Washington to plan the future of the pro-life movement.

Mahoney tells ChristianNewsire.com that Obama clearly plans to continue the massacre against American woman and children that has led to more than 50 million abortions. He hopes the pro-life movement will "stand against this injustice just as civil rights workers stood against the injustice of segregation, violence, and racism a generation ago."
