ACLU sues over religion at abstinence summit

The ACLU has filed suit against the Department of Human Services (DHS) of the State of Mississippi. During a DHS-sponsored event discouraging premarital sex, the agency played religious music and read from the Bible.
The suit charges that DHS used taxpayer money to propagate Christianity. The summit was conducted by the Just Wait Abstinence Unit of DHS. The ACLU also said a minister was asked to pray and the summit included religious themes and a Christian message throughout.
The lawsuit is requesting the court to force the state to pay back any and all federal funds and discontinue any future plans of summits with religious themes.
