Soap opera actress quits over homosexual plot

  One Life to Live actress Patricia Mauceri quit her role as Carlotta Vega on the popular ABC soap opera. In late June she received a script with her character accepting another’s perceived homosexuality. Mauceri reportedly tried to rewrite the part to show concern and confusion from her character.
  Apparently, series producers rejected her rewrite, and Mauceri said the plot went against her religious convictions. Mauceri reportedly walked off the set and another actress was cast in the role. The gay storyline, involving two male characters, aired in September.
