Sue ThomasFamily friendly shows find new life on Gospel Music Channel, DVD

Two family friendly shows that debuted on PAX in 2004 have been picked up by the Gospel Music Channel (GMC) as part of its regular lineup. Doc, a series starring Billy Ray Cyrus as a country doctor who moved to New York City, was the first to show. Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, based on the real-life story of a severely deaf woman who landed a job with the FBI in Washington, D.C., started just a few weeks later.
Gary Johnson, one of the producers of both shows, said both are doing very well on GMC. Ratings for Doc were up over 100% in the first four weeks.  The shows made such a splash that GMC is airing them twice a day. Sue Thomas airs weekdays at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, and Doc can be seen weekdays at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
“GMC is an excellent place for Doc,” said  Johnson. “The channel plans to broaden their horizons beyond music and offer good, wholesome family entertainment, and they think Doc is the perfect vehicle to help do that.”
GMC, currently available in about 45 million homes, is the fastest growing cable channel. At www.gospelmusicchannel.com, people can check to see if GMC is available in their area.
Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye will soon be available on DVD.
