A 28-year-old blogger has been arrested in Saudi Arabia for writing about his conversion to Christianity.
Hamoud Bin Saleh was arrested last month and detained at a political prison in Riyadh after he wrote on his blog about his conversion and his views on Islam. Jonathan Racho, a spokesperson with International Christian Concern, says the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is known for oppressing religious and political minorities. "Saudi Arabia doesn't allow for construction of churches. There are no churches; there is no single church constructed in Saudi Arabia because they don't allow for construction of churches," he points out. "They don't allow for conversion from Islam to Christianity." Last year, a Saudi official's daughter was murdered by her father because she converted to Christianity.
