Officials with China Aid Association say they have received no word on the outcome of the trial of a Christian imprisoned for his faith.

Alimujiang Yimiti has been in custody since January 2008. He was charged with revealing state secrets or intelligence to overseas organiAlimujiang Yimitizations. However, Katherine Cason with China Aid Association says Alimujiang, who is a former Muslim, was arrested because of his witness among the Uyghur people.

According to Cason, Alimujiang's treatment has not gone unnoticed.

"Even the U.N. has ruled his imprisonment is illegal, that he's being arbitrarily detained," she points out. "And the international community has all taken great notice of this case because it is an illegal imprisonment -- and China is breaking its own laws as well as international laws about imprisonment."

Alimujiang's trial took place last week.
