A California pro-family activist believes the April 15 "TEA parties" across the country were the start of a revolution that will bring about some real change in the 2010 congressional elections.
Randy Thomasson is the president of SaveCalifornia.com, a West Coast nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing children and families. He was among the thousands of people who attended the "Taxed Enough Already" rally at the State Capitol in Sacramento on Wednesday. Thomasson says like Americans in other parts of the country, Californians are fed up with the Obama administration's tax policies. But he notes that the people in the Golden State are also bogged down by one of the highest state tax burdens in the nation. The people have had enough, he says. "This is a revolution that I think is going to bear some changes in the 2010 elections because people are upset about the Obama, Democrat takeover of the economy," the activist states. "And here in California, [which has] the largest population [in the U.S.], [they're upset about] a big, big tax hike from the state. It's almost a perfect storm -- and I am hoping and praying for change in the year 2010." Thomasson says people are now understanding that the government "stimulus" was not good economics and only served to stimulate bigger government -- and that tax hikes are not going to bring prosperity to the nation.
