Sarah PalinA Republican political consultant and pollster predicts former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will continue to gain prominence in the GOP leading up to the 2012 election, even though she's no longer in office.

Sarah Palin has reportedly received more than 950 requests to give speeches and more than 120 candidates have asked her to appear for them at campaign events.

Clemson University political scientist Dave Woodard believes Palin is an "extremely appealing" candidate.
 Dave Woodard
"She's been proven, especially, and tested with her daughter and her own decisions about her son and her marriage. She is a very popular fundraiser. People will pay to go see her most anywhere in the country, but as to whether or not she really has the timber to be President, I think that has to be seen," he contends. "But the more that she appears at these fundraisers and everything like this, the more she's going to garner support from the Republican base, I think."

Palin will be giving a keynote speech at a Hong Kong investors conference later this month.
