Jim PouillonA resolution has been introduced in the House of Representatives to honor a slain pro-life demonstrator.

Congressman Dave Camp (R-Michigan) and Dale Kildee (D-Michigan) are sponsors of the resolution to honor 63-year-old Jim Pouillon, a long-time pro-life activist who was killed in Owosso, Michigan, on September 11. A 33-year-old trucker has been charged in the shooting.

Camp tells OneNewsNow the resolution honoring Pouillon is appropriate and should receive bipartisan support.

Dave Camp (R-MI)"He is somebody who was a veteran who was wounded in service to this country, a father, a retired auto worker, and I knew him really because he peacefully protested on behalf of the unborn, and was really a big defender of the unborn and the First Amendment right to be able to speak out," Camp remembers.

The Republican lawmaker also said it would be helpful if the public would contact their elected representatives in Washington, asking them to sign on to the measure H. Res. 759. A companion resolution is expected in the Senate. The House did act favorably on a resolution after late-term abortionist George Tiller was killed in Wichita in late May.
