Planned ParenthoodA prominent conservative believes Planned Parenthood should receive the ACORN treatment.

Gary Bauer, president of American Values, points to recent news of an undercover investigation of ACORN and Congress' reaction to the alleged misuse of federal funds.

"But the media's pretty much ignored growing evidence that Planned Parenthood is also engaged in corruption and has been using taxpayer money often while in apparent violation of the law," he notes.

Gary Bauer 1Evidence has been uncovered by investigations conducted by Lila Rose of Live Action and Students for Life, showing that Planned Parenthood employees have offered to obtain abortions for minors impregnated by adult boyfriends -- but have shown little interest in reporting the statutory rapes to authorities.

"This is the sort of thing that I think is causing a taxpayer revolt around the country," Bauer says, "not just among people who are morally opposed to abortion, but in addition to that people who believe that the law should mean something and that tax money should not be used in any way or at any time to aid and abet the violation of the laws of the United States or of the states."

Congressman Mike Pence (R-Indiana) has again introduced legislation to defund Planned Parenthood. (See related story)
