What is OneNewsNow.com and who operates this site?
OneNewsNow.com is the website of the American Family News Network (AFN), a national Christian news service. Our goal is to present the day's news from a biblical perspective. We not only feature the latest breaking stories from across the United States and around the world, but also news of the challenges facing Christians in today's society.

What is the American Family News Network?
In January 2007, the AgapePress division of the American Family Association and the news division of American Family Radio were merged to create the American Family News Network. AFN's staff of ten journalists and seven technology specialists endeavors each day to bring you the most important news from a Christian perspective.

How do I sign up to receive your Daily News Brief email?
Look on our home page in the leftt-hand column. The registration form is located there. Just enter your name, email address and zip code, then click "Subscribe." Almost immediately, you should receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. You will not begin receiving the OneNewsNow.com Daily News Brief until you click on the link in that email to confirm your subscription. This "double opt-in" registration system is used to keep people from registering your email address for our newsletter without your permission. By the way, the email, like the news on our site, costs you nothing ... it's free!

Will you sell or give my email address to anyone else? (What is your Privacy Policy?)
PLEASE NOTE: We do not sell our email list but we may rent it on a per occasion basis to trusted third parties who have information that might interest you. American Family Association sends the email from our servers to ensure there is no transfer of information to these third parties.

What are AFN's reprint and republication policies?
All originally-produced AFN material is protected by U.S. and International Copyright laws. You can read our entire Reprint and Republication Policy here and the policy of the Associated Press, denying permission to reprint or republish its material from OneNewsNow.com here.

TOP

Do you restrict who can and cannot reprint or republish AFN content?
Use of AFN content by any other entity is governed by both our reprint and republication policies, linked to above, and our Acceptable Use policy here. Violation of either policy exposes the violator to potential civil litigation. Continued violation after receiving notice of violation could subject the violator to criminal prosecution.

What happened to AgapePress and AFR News?
In January 2007, the AgapePress division of the American Family Association (AFA) and the news division of American Family Radio were merged to create the American Family News Network (AFN). The news from AgapePress that you previously read online or in your Christian newspaper was, for the most part, originally produced for radio by the American Family Radio news division and then edited for print style, expanded and syndicated by the AgapePress staff. AFR news was simply unable to deliver all of the information gathered by their reporters in the four and a half minutes allotted for news. AgapePress was created as a news syndication service for Christian newspapers, not as a perpetually-updating online outlet to provide news from the Christian perspective to an audience that includes, but reaches beyond the Christian community.

In late 2006, AFA founder and Chairman Don Wildmon approved the creation of the American Family News Network (AFN) and OneNewsNow.com to overcome these limitations and to better provide news from a Christian perspective to the world via the Internet. After two months of development, OneNewsNow.com was launched on January 15, 2007. AFN is staffed by the same individuals who have provided AFR News since 1996 and syndicated that news via AgapePress since 1999, in addition to new staff members with expertise in online news delivery.

I made a comment, but it's not showing up. Why?
After you make a comment, it won't show up until it passes through our moderators. This process can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours (24 hours usually on the weekend) to appear on the website -- depending on the time of the day. If you made a comment and it simply didn't show up at all, it might have been because it was too long, contained a URL (a web link), or didn't pertain directly to the article (read our policy regarding this). Also, we will not post any comments that are rude and degrading to OneNewsNow.com or any of our readers who also made comments. And, of course, we won't post any comments with profanity or vulgarity in them.

What is the Forum?
The Forum is a list of topics regarding today's issues and news stories from our site that readers, like yourself, may use to discuss with other readers by posting comments on the subject. We will link some of our main stories to the Forums marked by a button at the end of our news articles that you may click on and discuss the story you just read with other readers who have also made comments on that same story.

Enter your information and we will then send you a new temporary password that you may use to login with and then go to your profile and change your password back to what you would like it to be.

TOP

Why can't I play any of the videos?
If you are having trouble playing the videos on our site it is because you don't have Flashplayer installed. You can go to Adobe.com to download it or here is a link straight to the download page.

TOP

When I try to register, it rejects my e-mail address. What am I doing wrong?
If you get this error, it is most likely because you already have an account with us. You should then click on the Login button and put in your email address for your username and then put in your password. If this does not work, or you do not know what or can't remember what your password is, you can easily retrieve it by click on the "Password" button and putting in your information. We will then send you a new temporary password that you will be able to use to login with.

I try to login, but I get an error saying my account is locked. What do I do?
If you get an error message that says your account is locked, you need to go to our Contact Us page and send a message to the webmaster that your account has been locked. An account can get locked for many reasons. 1) The account might have been tried to be logged into too many times with the wrong user name or password. 2) Onenewsnow.com locked the account because the user was using inappropriate language, or continued to make rude remarks about Onenewnsow.com or rude remarks towards other readers.
