A documentary that chronicles the rise of a Christian NBA superstar has just opened in theaters across the U.S.
It's the story of Jeremy Lin, who had a great deal of athletic success in high school but never received scholarship offers from some of the top college basketball programs. He played his college ball at Harvard but never really caught the attention of those who could have ever imagined the impact Jeremy Lin would have.
Now with the Houston Rockets, Jeremy Lin's story is being told in the film Linsanity, directed by Evan Jackson Leong.
Leong tells OneNewsNow that the project began before “Linsanity” was even a word, when Lin was still attending Harvard.
“His whole life up to that point was really, really inspiring,” says Leong. “I thought it was a good story to share.”
Leong has a desire that everyone who sees Linsanity is left with the understanding of the importance of relying on God for everything in their life.
“He just wants to inspire people to follow their dreams, no matter how hard or difficult it gets,” Leong says of the basketball star. “When times are really tough, you’ve got to rely on something. You’ve got to rely on your faith.”
Leong says the main goal of the film is to tell Lin's story and give him a platform to share his faith.
A media watchdog group has discovered that three years ago NBC buried the lead story of one of its reporters to protect the interests of President Obama.
