Israel getting ready for war

The founder of a pro-Israel ministry believes the Israelis are preparing for war -- with or without the blessing of the U.S.

In one of his sharpest attacks yet against the Jewish state, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently declared that Israel's existence is an "insult to all humanity," as Israel openly debates whether to attack Iran over its nuclear program.

Israel considers Iran an existential threat because of its nuclear and missile programs, its support for radical, anti-Israel groups on its borders, and its leaders' repeated references to Israel's destruction. Iran has warned it would hit back at Israel if it is attacked, also threatening to strike at American interests in the region.

Cardoza-Moore, LaurieLaurie Cardoza-Moore, president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN), tells OneNewsNow the Israeli people are preparing for war.

"They're in the stores buying gas masks; they're preparing their bomb shelters," she reports. "And I'm also reading a report that there [are] not enough gas masks and bomb shelters for the people. The people are preparing nonetheless, because they know that a battle with Iran is imminent."

In the U.S., Cardoza-Moore says President Obama faces serious political consequences if the Israelis indeed launch a strike before the November election.

"If Israel decides to attack, if he comes out against the attack, it's going to hurt him," she asserts. "And he's also going to have to weigh in the balance that if Israel does attack, it could hurt him."

The PJTN president finds it unfortunate that the people of Israel cannot rely upon the United States to come to their defense against a regime that has proclaimed that Israel will one day be "wiped off the map."
