Obama's foreign policy to blame for attacks in Middle East?

Chad Groening   (OneNewsNow.com) Thursday, September 13, 2012

A conservative activist and former presidential candidate says President Obama's foreign policy missteps helped create the international crisis that led to the recent murder of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans and has endangered every American serving abroad.

U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed when an armed mob attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, setting it ablaze on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11. On the same day, an Islamic mob entered the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, and tore down the American flag.

As a result, U.S. embassies in at least seven countries are preparing for more protests that have reportedly been sparked by an anti-Muslim video produced in the U.S. Already, protests have been reported outside embassies in Yemen and Iraq.

Bauer, Gary (American Values)But Gary Bauer of American Values says it is absurd to blame Americans for the violence in Benghazi.

"Suggesting that some obscure film that somebody made explains these riotous mobs -- that is just breathtaking in its ignorance," he insists. "So, this shows they're clueless. They don't know what's happening in the Middle East. They're putting all of us at risk. And has it dawned on them that these attacks took place on the anniversary of 9/11? The idea that this had something to do with a movie is absurd."

Bauer believes Obama's foreign policy is emboldening America's Islamic enemies, and events in the Middle East are accelerating toward a cataclysmic crisis due in part to the president's inability to understand how to act on the world stage.
