Pro-life leaders in Ontario, Canada, are stunned by a pronouncement by the government's education minister that teaching against abortion violates an anti-bullying law.
Education Minister Laurel Broten claims Catholic schools teaching against abortion could be considered one of the most misogynistic actions they could take. Jack Fonseca of the Campaign Life Coalition says Broten's remark has people across Canada outraged.
"As far as I know, in the history of our nation, there has never been an assault on freedom of religion and freedom of conscience like what she has promised," he tells OneNewsNow.
He says the situation is made even more difficult because the news media appears to side with Broten's anti-Catholic stance.
"The mainstream media are all liberal, radically pro-abortion, radically pro-homosexuality," he observes. "And they've been badgering -- just bullying the bishops and bullying the Catholic school boards for two years now on these issues."
Ironically, Broten professes to be Catholic -- and her own children attend Catholic schools.
