News has surfaced of another violent late-term abortion in China. The victim was six months pregnant.
Qiao Ping'an was working in the fields during harvest when seven "family planning" officials arrived at his home in Qiaojia Village and, without his knowledge, forced his wife Song to go to Universal Love Woman's Hospital, which was 100 kilometers away.
Brian Lee, executive director of All Girls Allowed (AGA), explains what transpired there.
"When they got to the hospital, the officials violently tied Song down, confiscated her cell phone and took off all of her clothing," he tells OneNewsNow. "And since she continued to resist quite strongly, they forcibly injected her with a sedative and pressed her finger to sign the voluntary abortion consent form."
Then, according to Lee, a needle was pushed into her womb to inject chemicals to kill the baby and induce labor and she was locked in the room. Her family arrived six hours later and quarreled with authorities, but were sent home.
"To continue the tragedy, she suffered a mental breakdown," continues the AGA spokesman. "Now she's in a trance-like state of shock. She can't take care of herself. One of her two daughters is seven years old and she is crying everyday asking what has happened to her mother."
Lee says the incident is horrible, but urges that Christians maintain a posture of hope and faith, and continue to pray for an end to China's forced-abortion policy. Plus, Lee adds, China must be held accountable.
