Nativity 1A Satanic sculpture is on display in the Illinois Capitol during Christmastime this year, and as can be expected, there is much negative reaction.

The Satanic sculpture called "Knowledge Is the Greatest Gift," is located alongside a Nativity scene and a menorah, and it shows the snake wrapped forearm of a woman holding an apple. The display is sponsored by The Satanic Temple-Chicago.

David E. Smith of Illinois Family Institute has a number of problems with the Satanic statue.

"The Satanic monument in Springfield only shows how hostile our culture is getting to the things of God," Smith argued. "Christians have for years now been able to celebrate putting the Nativity scene in the capital every year [and] in the past, we've had monuments for atheists, [but] now, it's being taken a step further."

"Scripture tells us that little baby Jesus in that manger is the one who is going to crush that serpent's head, and the gates of hell are not going to prevail against it," Smith pointed out.

The Christian pro-family advocate encourages Christians to pray for these atheists.

"These people are lost and do not realize that Jesus is love, and He came to rescue us from ourselves," Smith asserted. "These people don't realize they have a need for the Savior, and we need to pray that their eyes be opened because what they are celebrating is something they will regret for an eternity."
