ICE arrest (new pic)A university professor is under fire for publishing the names and addresses of hundreds of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

Sam Lavigne, an adjunct professor at New York University, used business web site LinkedIn to compile the names, pictures, job titles and approximate locations of nearly 1,600 ICE employees, saying he hoped that journalists and activists would find it "useful" information.

Lavigne has said he researched and published the information in response to the migrant children crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Council Nedd of Project 21 says Lavigne didn't break the law but his conduct was inappropriate nonetheless.

Lavigne has said he researched and published the information in response to the migrant children crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Compiling and then publishing the names of these individuals," Nedd complains, "and sort of just tossing it out there broadly for journalists or researchers or any terrorist organization that wants to do anything with it, and pretending like he's done nothing wrong, I think it's inappropriate."

Such a careless and brazen act could put ICE agents at risk, especially in the current political climate, he says.

In fact, some Leftists are describing ICE as a "terrorist" organization, and an animal carcass was burned and left on the front porch of an Department of Homeland Security official working in Washington, D.C.
