Teachers (TV Land)Sponsors of a controversial program on the cable network TV Land continue to drop as a media watchdog for parents applies more pressure.

In its continued effort to make television more family friendly, One Million Moms has been targeting advertisers for the show Teachers, now in its second season. 1MM's director, Monica Cole, says her organization has consistently contacted sponsors of the sitcom she deems "vile."

"... The foul language [on the program] is only increasing and the sexual innuendos are only increasing," she tells OneNewsNow. "But there's great news: our voice is being heard .... The sponsorship is decreasing and we're focusing on contacting the advertisers to pull the financial support because the season is coming to a close – it's winding down."

TV LandAccording to Cole, each episode contains content worse than the one previous – and that's why they are committed to contacting sponsors so they know exactly what content their financial dollars are supporting.

With the airing of the show Teachers, Cole says, the network "is encouraging crude dialogue, offensive gestures at school, teachers being cruel to young children, and questioning authority." She goes on to say that the show "is irresponsible and an insult to women and teachers."
