A pro-Israel activist is praising Israel's government for banning members of 20 Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions organizations from entering the Holy Land.
This week, the Israel Strategic Affairs Ministry published the entire BDS "black list" that primarily includes European and American organizations such as Americans Friends Service Committee, American Muslims for Palestine, and Code Pink.
Israel's strategic affairs minister, Gilad Erdan, told Haaretz the country has "shifted from defense to offense" over BDS, which is attempting to isolate Israel around the world in the name of helping Palestinians.
Erdan went on to warn that the State of Israel will not allow them to enter the country only to harm its citizens – and no other country would, either.
Laurie Cardoza-Moore, president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, says Israel has the right as a sovereign nation "to let people know that if you support BDS, if you're an anti-Semite who is bent on the destruction of the State of Israel, to eliminate the state of Israel from the river to the sea, you have no right to be in that country."
The contention of the BDS movement is completely misguided, she says, because the claim is an "oppressive regime" is being confronted by a "peaceful resistance" meant to punish it.
"Well, the oppressive regime is not the State of Israel against the Palestinian people," says Cardoza-Moore. "It's actually the Palestinian Authority and the Arabs who support the Palestinian Authority."
