GOP lawmakers are demanding the public release of an explosive memo regarding the FBI's surveillance of the Trump presidential campaign.
Four Republican lawmakers have revealed to the Fox News Channel that members of the House Intelligence Committee have received a four-page memo exposing apparent widespread surveillance abuses by the United States government. The lawmakers said they could not yet discuss the contents of the memo except that it is shocking, troubling, and alarming.
Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (R) was one of the lawmakers shocked by what he read.
"The intelligence memo that we have just read is so alarming that it must be immediately disclosed to the American people, and the disclosure of this intelligence document must be a top priority for the country immediately," he reacted. "I cannot stress how important that is. Any American that would see this document would feel as though people like Rod Rosenstein and Bruce Ohr need to be fired immediately."
Chris Farrell, director of investigations and research for Judicial Watch, weighed in on the latest revelation on the Fox Business Channel.
"Now we've had pointed out the corruption of the FBI and the agents, the corruption at the Justice Department," he stated. "This is institutional corruption that's been leveraged by various parties."
If the White House does not object, the memo could be released this week.
