The facts are there -- now numbers are needed

Just as one House committee begins its investigation in earnest, Congress is being reminded this week that pro-lifers want action on Planned Parenthood.

In the aftermath of last month's Women Betrayed rallies, prompted by the ongoing release of The Center for Medical Progress' secret videos showing Planned Parenthood and procurement agencies discussing the sale of aborted baby body parts, pressure continues for Planned Parenthood to be defunded.

Hawkins, Kristan (Students for Life)Kristan Hawkins, who heads Students for Life, tells OneNewsNow Congress has had a short vacation.

"Congress men and women are going back into session for September, and they're planning the budget, which as it currently stands contains over $500 million in taxpayer funds for Planned Parenthood," the pro-lifer details. "So we are asking pro-lifers across the nation to join us in Washington, DC on Thursday, September 10th and demand not a dime more for Planned Parenthood."

Hawkins says there is a good reason why it is important for large numbers of people to be on the doorsteps of their members of Congress.

"The media has not been covering these videos the way they should be, and they're just helping out their allies in the abortion industry, and we know there's one way to get their attention: It's by numbers," she insists. "And having thousands of people in Washington, DC on September 10th is going to be the way to get the national media to pay attention and to get leaders in Congress to listen to our demands."

The Students for Life president adds that a good turnout is further important because the House Judiciary Committee has scheduled the first of several meetings toward determining whether Planned Parenthood's practices have broken federal laws. And on that note, a Christian legal group is going public with further evidence it contends demonstrates the need to defund Planned Parenthood.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has compiled and made public a report on the number of documented cases of underage girls receiving abortions at Planned Parenthood without the abortion giant notifying authorities of the cases so molesters can be prosecuted. Reporting the crime is required by law.

Decker

ADF attorney Natalie Decker tells her firm's report catalogues multiple instances.

"As our report demonstrates, Planned Parenthood has been involved for many years in performing abortions on underage, sexually-abused girls and letting the rapist go free, many times to go on abusing either that same girl or other children," Decker laments.

Norton, Michael (ADF)Michael J. Norton, another attorney for ADF, tells OneNewsNow the report "adds to the growing mountain of information that makes defunding Planned Parenthood a clear national priority."

"There are thousands of really good community health centers that can be trusted with our taxpayer dollars. Planned Parenthood has proven for decades that it can't be trusted. In fact, the only thing it's really entitled to is a federal investigation," Norton concludes.
