Planned Parenthood signAttorneys for a veteran pro-life whistleblower are disappointed with the latest action taken against their client, calling it another attack by the "abortion empire."

David Daleiden is no stranger to courtrooms. He and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress now face 15 felony charges lodged by California's new attorney general, Xavier Becerra. That's in connection with their undercover videos of Planned Parenthood and other abortion organizations peddling aborted baby body parts for a profit.

One of the attorneys handling the Daleiden-Merritt case is Alexandra Snyder of Life Legal Defense Foundation. "This is just outrageous," she states. "The length to which the new attorney general has gone to continue this witch hunt against David is just astounding."

According to Becerra, Daleiden and Merritt recorded conversations that should have been treated as private conversations. Snyder contends that's impossible, considering where the interchanges took place: in restaurants or at conferences attended by hundreds of individuals.

"We're talking about a situation where David had conversations in the presence of sometimes hundreds of other people – and yet the prosecutor's claiming that there was some kind of confidentiality at stake here," the attorney adds.

Criminal charges were finally dropped against the two pro-lifers who were indicted in Houston, Texas; they still face civil trials in state and federal courts in California. No court date yet on the latest allegations.

"We're just shocked and very, very disappointed at this abuse of discretion by our new attorney general," Snyder concludes. "This is nothing short of a witch hunt."

Becerra is a former member of Congress who, according to LLDF, "enjoys a 100% rating with Planned Parenthood."

Hey, feds! When are you gonna act?

Yesterday, Dalieden's group released a new undercover video – similar to those that have prompted the legal action described above. This one features the images and comments of Shawn Taylor, who once served as medical director for Planned Parenthood in Arizona. She typically used the dismemberment abortion method to terminate preborn children.

Hawkins, Kristan (Students for Life)In light of this recently released video, Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life is urging federal authorities to take action.

"You have a Planned Parenthood-trained abortionist who worked for Planned Parenthood over several years admitting that the crushing of a baby's skull gave her biceps a workout – and talking about how she had to be careful with staff she had in the room because she didn't want the baby coming out looking like a baby because that would affect employee morale," she summarizes.

The undercover videos released over the last couple of years reveal Planned Parenthood and other abortion-providers culling aborted babies' body parts and selling them for a profit. It's time, says Hawkins, for the feds to start investigating Planned Parenthood and prosecute them for their crimes.

"We already had the investigation that came out of the House of Representatives and the Senate. We know what they found Planned Parenthood guilty of doing," she states. "It's time to do a federal investigation."

While calling for prosecution, Hawkins also asks Congress to move to defund Planned Parenthood.
