pro-lifer reading BibleA national pro-life leader sees optimism increasing among pro-lifers as a result of administrative changes in Washington, DC, and the prospect of pro-life appointments to the Supreme Court.

"We've got members of Congress who are going to do everything they can to pass pro-life legislation," National Right to Life president Carol Tobias explains. "There's just a lot of optimism – so I expect [our upcoming] convention to be filled with excitement and energy and people wanting to find out what they can do in their communities."

Tobias

Tobias is referring to the National Right to Life Committee's convention set for June 29-July 1, 2017, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The theme for this year's convention is "Keeping Tomorrow Alive." Workshops at the gathering will address a number of topics, ranging from the link between abortion and breast cancer to the dangerous campaign for do-it-yourself abortions.

Speakers lined up for general sessions include author and columnist Ben Shapiro; Ann McElhinney, co-author of "Gosnell: The Untold Story of America's Most Prolific Serial Killer"; and Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life.

"Father Frank Pavone is always a hit with our people," Tobin informs. "He has a lot of energy in his spiritual guidance and wisdom …" Other speakers will be announced as they are confirmed.

Tobias adds that pro-lifers need not be affiliated with an organization to attend.
