A northern university has scuttled its plan to hire a "trainer in training" to train future abortionists following protests from outraged students.
Campus Reform reports the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities sought to hire a board-certified medical doctor to "spend one year as a 'trainer in training,' learning to perform abortions and related procedures."
Matt Lamb of Students for Life of America believes Planned Parenthood was behind this plan.
"I think it all just kind of plays into the abortion lobby trying to normalize themselves on college campuses," he says. "So teaming up with a well-known university helps give them the legitimacy that they need so they can continue to pretend that they're providing real medical care."
The pushback is an example, he says, that pro-life student groups are beginning to make a difference at their schools.
"They realize that they probably didn't want any more phone calls or emails about the decision from more and more pro-life people," the pro-lifer tells OneNewsNow. "So I do think it shows that we are winning on college campuses."
If a person had been hired, he or she would have been deployed to Planned Parenthood as part of their training, according to Campus Reform.
